Thaddeus Strassberger
Thaddeus Strassberger is the first prize winner of the 2005 European Opera Directing Prize. Recent directorial credits include Rossini's LA CENERENTOLA as a co-production with Opera Ireland and the Hessisches Staatstheater in Wiesbaden, Germany. He also recently created a new production of Ambroise Thomas' HAMLET for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City. More recent productions include AIDA for the Lyric opera of Kansas City, ORFEO ED EURIDICE for Theater Augsburg, LA GAZZETTA for the Rossini in Wildbad Festival in Germany, and DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE for Arizona Opera.

Alessandro Talevi
In 2005 he co-founded Independent Opera at Sadler’s Wells with William and Judith Bollinger, and with the Bollingers’ generous support, is its current artistic director. Talevi was awarded 3rd prize in the prestigious 2007 European Opera Directing Prize held in Wiesbaden, for his concept of Rusalka with designer Madeleine Boyd.
His productions include La Colombe/L’occasione fa il ladro (Guildhall School of Music and Drama), The Sofa/The Departure, Orlando, La Scala di Seta (Independent Opera at Sadler’s Wells), Gräfin Mariza (Pro Musica, Johannesburg), Un Giorno di Regno (Breytenbach Theatre, Pretoria), La Voix Humaine, Noye’s Fludde and La Princess Jaune (London Oratory Theatre).
Talevi has also directed opera tableaux for the RAM opera course, and recently revived Teatro La Fenice’s production of Ariadne auf Naxos in Bolzano and Lucca.
